Firhill on the Forth & Clyde canal Roe Deer on the Forth & Clyde Canal at Glasgow
(Above) Ahead and to the left is Firhill Park - home of Partick Thistle football team. Between the stadium and the Glasgow canal branch there is the crescent shaped basin referred to in the description on the right.

(Above) On the west side of the Glasgow branch there is a crescent shaped canal basin with north and south entrances into the basin from the main canal branch. In between the two basin entrances the branch bankside forms a quarter mile long curved island albeit only 10 yards wide. Each time we have passed this summer, we have spotted the little 'family' of Roe Deer, seemingly living on the 10 yard wide island - charming
